MELBOURNE, THE PENINSULA & REGIONAL VICTORIA
Bike fitting in Victoria.
Start with your own bike, at home.
An online bike fit for ordinary riders. Check your setup, explore frame sizes and compare your riding position with clear guidance on a phone or laptop.
This is a self-guided online service available throughout Victoria. It does not include a clinic appointment or a visit from a bike fitter.
Your commute and your weekend ride can ask different things of you
A short ride through Melbourne, a longer coastal outing on the Mornington Peninsula and a regional ride can put you in different positions for different lengths of time. Start with the bike and riding you actually do—not the position you see in a racing photo.
Tell the fitting tool what you ride, what equipment you have and what you notice. You can start even if you have no symptoms and simply want to check your current setup. Road, TT, mountain and everyday bikes follow different pathways.
Choose the check that answers your question
Everyday comfort, no trainer
Start with mounting, reaching your brakes, control and basic setup checks.
Compare your position on video
Use a stable trainer, a clear side view and two comparable recordings.
Buying or checking a frame
Use height, inside leg and a confirmed model chart to create a starting shortlist.
Second-hand or unknown-year bike
Check model identity and source data before trusting a size printed on a frame.
Online checks or a local fitting appointment?
Online guidance is a practical way to record what you have, make a clearer comparison and understand your next question. You can work through it from home in Melbourne, Geelong or elsewhere in Victoria without travelling to an appointment.
An in-person service is the better next step when you need someone to examine you, assess a complex issue, check safety directly or make hardware changes you cannot confidently do yourself. Online video does not measure every part of fit and cannot diagnose the cause of pain.
Read what an online bike fit can and cannot show before you decide.
Make your follow-up ride useful
Keep a record of your original setup. If a supported change is appropriate, change one thing and check it again before a normal ride. Compare similar riding conditions, duration and effort so the notes mean something.
For a stop-start commute, notice control and hand position as well as comfort. For a longer weekend ride, record when discomfort begins. For off-road riding, seated trainer footage is only one part of the picture; mountain-bike checks also have limits that need attention.
Before you start
Is this an in-person bike fit in Melbourne?
Everyday Bike Fit is an online, self-guided service. You use your own bike and a phone or laptop at home. There is no clinic appointment, home visit or live fitter included. If you want hands-on assessment or help installing parts, choose a suitable local professional.
Can I start without a bike trainer?
Yes. The basic route covers getting on and off, reaching the controls and recording your current setup. Pedalling video needs a compatible, stable indoor trainer. Do not balance on an unsupported bike or film yourself riding in traffic.
Will it work with an older commuter or an inexpensive bike?
Yes, the everyday route is designed to include ordinary bikes. The catalogue also includes older and budget models. If the exact model’s geometry or sizing chart is unavailable, that gap stays visible rather than becoming a guessed recommendation.
Do I have to know the model year?
No. Leave the year unknown and check model names, frame markings and wheel options against the linked source. Confirm a chart only when it matches your bike’s generation.
Can I use my phone while another screen shows feedback?
The two-device feature lets a paired screen show supported capture feedback while the camera device records. Saved sessions require sign-in, and video remains on the recording device unless you choose to download or share it.
Will this tell me that my bike fits perfectly?
No. Manufacturer sizing charts give starting points, and camera readings are estimates with limitations. Your control, comfort, component limits and repeated real rides still matter. Persistent symptoms or an unsafe setup need appropriate in-person help.
