Record your measurements or prepare a clear riding video. Follow the capture checks before interpreting a sample. You can use a second device to see recording status and measurements.
If the guidance supports a change, record it and repeat the check. Keep the original footage on your device and add notes after a familiar ride.
A LITTLE KNOW-HOW GOES A LONG WAY
Start with the question you brought here. Each guide connects to the checks in your fit.
You can start guided setup checks at home with your own bike and a phone or laptop. With a compatible indoor trainer, you can also record and compare a side-on riding video. The result is a starting point for your next check, not a diagnosis.
What online bike fitting can showYou can start the basic route without one: record your setup, measurements and access to the controls. Dynamic pedalling analysis needs a compatible trainer that safely supports the bike. A wall or someone holding the bike is not a substitute.
Bike fitting without a trainerStart with a repeatable measurement of your existing setup. There is no single seat-height number for every rider. Your bike, shoes, pedals, movement and reported comfort all add context before considering a change.
Checking your bike seat heightRecord the hand position, when you notice it and whether you can operate both brakes. Several parts of your setup can affect your reach; a stretched feeling or one camera angle cannot choose a replacement stem.
Checking handlebar reachAllow time to set up, gather useful observations and repeat a check if needed. There is no fixed total session time. A video’s minimum recording length is only part of the process, and the follow-up ride happens separately.
Planning time for your online fitYou can record a comfortable position without trying to change it. A saved starting point is useful after a component change or when comparing future observations. Keeping a setup that works is a valid outcome.
